Yukon Alpine Centennial Expedition Slideshow

The Yukon Alpine Centennial Expedition in 1967 was, and still is, the largest mountaineering expedition in history. There were nearly 250 people involved!

Phil Dowling, author of the book The Mountaineers, and former president of the Alpine Club of Canada (1968-1970), was the logistics coordinator for the expedition, and a member of the successful Mount Alberta team.

ACC Yukon is pleased to host a slideshow by Phil Dowling, with his photos and stories from the 1967 expedition.  Monty Alford, one of the planners from the Yukon end of the expedition, may also join us.

Don't miss this opportunity to hear, first hand, about the history of mountaineering in the Yukon in the St. Elias Mountains.

Everyone is welcome, both members and nonmembers, so invite your friends.  Food and beverages can be purchased at Baked Cafe. See you there!
