Montana Mountain Overnight Hike

ACC Yukon is offering an overnight backpacking trip to Montana Mountain/Dail Peak area. The goal of this trip is to hike up the back side of Montana Mountain (Mountain Hero/Sam McGee Trail) set camp, take some time to look at potential sites for the Montana Mountain backcountry hut that ACC is working with CTFN on establishing and/or do some short accents of either Montana Mountain Peak or Dail Peak or other.

Details:

Meeting Time: Conrad parking area at 10 am Saturday August 24th
Return: Sunday Aug 25th late in the day (dinner time ideally)
Pre-trip meeting: Wednesday August 21st 5pm at baked Cafe (coordinate transportation, gear and questions)
Difficulty: Medium difficulty, long day of hiking, steep trail and potential scrambling on alpine peak ridges. No technical climbing. Carrying all overnight food and equipment is necessary.
Experience Needed: this is not a difficult trip, but everyone should have camping and hiking experience.
Equipment Needed: you will be responsible for your own gear and food, Backpack, clothing, tent, cooking gear and tent. At the pre trip meeting some people may choose to share and coordinate gear and food, but baseline is that you need to be able to cover yourself as ACC does not have any of this gear.
