Montana Mountain Hut System Scouting Trip

Are you interested in a hut system in the Yukon?

Would you use a hut that was built on Montana Mountain?

If you answered yes to any of the above, you may be interested in joining a trip Sunday March 11.

The Alpine Club of Canada Yukon Section is working closely with the economical corporation of the Carcross Tagish First Nation Government through the Carcross Tagish Management Corporation, the Yukon Business Development Project (YBDP) and other stakeholders to develop a project to build a series of huts on Montana Mountain.

On March 11th we are gathering a group of stakeholders (designers, First Nations, funders, users) to join on a snowshoe/Ski tour up the Mountain Hero Trail. This will be an all day endeavour to attain up the mountain to look at the proposed hut location. This is not an official ACC trip, so membership is not mandatory, however we are looking for individuals that would consider themselves interested in either using and/or helping to build/maintain these huts via the Yukon Alpine Club.

If you are interested, please e-mail info@accyukon.ca. Interested individuals will be contacted with additional information necessary to participate.
